Privacy

Short version: your terminal stays on your Mac. The only thing DevTerminal sends anywhere is your license key.

DevTerminal is made by WEXPY Technologies (OPC) Private Limited (“we”). This page explains what the app and this website collect, and why.

The app

  • Your license. When you activate, DevTerminal sends your license key and your Mac's name (the one in System Settings → General → Sharing) to Polar, which issued the key. It checks the key with Polar again about once a week, and tells Polar when you deactivate a Mac. The activation is stored in your login keychain.
  • Downloads you start. Installing an Android emulator downloads Google's tools and system images straight from Google, under Google's terms.
  • Everything else stays on your Mac. Your commands, files, output, projects and settings never leave it. There are no analytics, no crash reporting and no tracking of any kind.

Buying

Purchases go through Polar, the merchant of record: Polar takes the payment, handles tax, and emails your receipt and license key, under its privacy policy. We receive your name, email address, country and order details from Polar, and use them only to support you and to keep the records the law asks of us. We never see your card details.

This website

The site uses Mixpanel to learn how visitors use it: the pages you view, the buttons you click (like Buy and Download), the FAQ answers you open, and your browser, device and approximate location. Mixpanel keeps a random ID in your browser's local storage instead of a cookie. When you finish a purchase, the thank-you page records Polar's checkout ID, not your name or email. The app itself sends Mixpanel nothing.

Like any website, the host keeps short-lived server logs, including IP addresses, to run and protect the service.
